The release activity of Hainan Top 50 Private Enterprises and Top 20 R&D investment is a brand activity carried out by Hainan Federation of Industry and Commerce to comprehensively display the achievements of private economic development in the province, stimulate the innovation momentum of enterprises with benchmarks, and better play the role of “new force”. This year is the seventh consecutive time that the Hainan Federation of Industry and Commerce has organized a survey of large-scale private enterprises. In accordance with the principle of voluntary participation, the provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce widely launched and organized the province’s operating income of more than 100 million yuan of private enterprises to participate in the top 50 declaration, and on this basis, jointly with the provincial science and technology Department for R & D investment top 20 ranking release. Data show that in 2023, the total revenue of the top 50 private enterprises in Hainan was 265.343 billion yuan, an increase of 50.51% over the previous year. The structure distribution is dominated by the secondary industry, and the number of manufacturing enterprises accounts for 46%. The total R&D expenditure reached 3.741 billion yuan, with an average R&D investment intensity of 2.83%. The total number of people employed was 164,300.
In general, under the background of an increasingly complex external environment, the top 50 private enterprises in Hainan still show a good situation of steady growth in operation scale, continuous optimization of industrial structure, continuous enhancement of innovation ability, and active implementation of social responsibility.
In recent years, the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and provincial government have always adhered to the “two unswervingly” and fully implemented the policies of the Party Central Committee and The State Council on supporting the development of the private economy. A series of policies and measures to support the development of private enterprises, including Several Measures to Support the Development of Private Economy and the Action Plan of Hainan Province to Promote the High-quality Development of Private Economy (2024-2025), have been issued, providing a stable policy environment and broad development space for the private economy.
By the end of 2023, there were 4,006,200 private operating entities in Hainan, accounting for 99.16% of the province’s operating entities, contributing 81.1% of Hainan’s tax revenue, 59.5 percent of GDP and more than 90 percent of urban employment. In addition, among the high-tech enterprises in the province, private enterprises account for more than 90%, and the private economy has become an important force in Hainan’s scientific and technological innovation.
The relevant person in charge of the Hainan Federation of Industry and Commerce said that in recent years, the private enterprises in Hainan province have united as one. In the face of severe economic situation and the reconstruction of the “Centau” and “Tan Mei” wind disasters, they have carried forward and faced difficulties. They have shown strong resilience and contributed to the positive force in improving efficiency, optimizing structure, transformation and upgrading, and green development. The release of the list of “Top 50 Hainan Private Enterprises in 2024” and “Top 20 Hainan Private Enterprises in R&D Investment in 2024” is to further demonstrate the high-quality development achievements of the private economy in the province, enhance the influence of private enterprises, and create a strong atmosphere of concern and support for the development of private economy by the whole society. We will vigorously guide private enterprises to accurately grasp the situation, strengthen their confidence in development, stimulate innovation, and fulfill their social responsibilities, take the lead in accelerating the development of new productive forces, and set an example in accelerating the development of first-class enterprises in China.
